Aurex (Pvt) Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe. The company’s jewellery core activities are manufacturing, wholesaling and retailing. It produces genuine gold and silver jewellery, both bridal and fashion. The jewellery can be plain or stone studded jewellery using diamonds or other natural gemstones like emeralds or CZ stones. The diamonds used in the jewellery are cut and polished in the high-tech diamond cutting and polishing plant at the Ruwa factory complex. Aurex is the biggest corporate entity in Zimbabwe which is into large scale manufacturing and retailing of jewellery. It has withstood the test of time against cheap imports of fake jewellery, some of which has harmful effects on health. The company has the capacity to produce up to three (3) tonnes of jewellery per year and all production is demand driven. The major export markets are Dubai, South Africa and Zambia were machine made chains and bangles are mainly exported to on a monthly basis.
